SATURDAY MORNING CONFESSIONS

During the Lenten season we will offer not only our usual weekday 8 a.m. Mass, but an
additional Tuesday and Friday evening Mass at 7p.m. The Stations of the Cross following this
Friday evening’s Mass will be led by the Knights of Columbus. Please join us! During Lent Saturday Confessions will be available both after the morning mass (from 9:30 to
10 a.m.) and at our regularly scheduled time (4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m).

SHARELIFE 2010 “You can work wonders” The Wonder of Family …

Personal well-being and family stability are constantly challenged as we go through life. These
challenges are amplified during periods of economic instability when job losses and financial stress can
lead to low self-esteem, family breakdown, poverty, addictions and violence. ShareLife’snetwork of Catholic Family Services offices collectively served more than 110,000 people in
2008 through a myriad of services and programs, working wonders to ensure that no one has to face
a crisis alone.

By now all registered parishioners should have received their Sharelife letter in the mail. Once
again this year we will be given the option of donating to Sharelife through credit card-either one
donation, or even monthly as a member of the new
Archbishop Philip Pocock Society. Last year over $25,000 of our donations were given in this easy
and secure manner. Be assured that controls are in place to guarantee the confidentiality of your credit
information- and thank you for considering this option!

Finally, this year we will restore the Aurora tradition of providing parishioners on hand after
each Mass to answer your Sharelife questions and receive your donations personally this weekend
March 6/7 and on the weekends of March 13/14, and Sharelife Sunday March 27/28. Please note
that these personally received donations will not be given an “instant tax receipt”…all tax receipts are
given at year end!

REFUGEE FAMILY ARRIVES!
It was with great joy that we welcomed our refugee family Remon, Ator and Ramon Nissan from
Iraq (via their home for the last four years in a refugee camp in Damascus, Syria!) to our parish community
during last Sunday’s Noon celebration of the Eucharist. At this writing they are living temporarily
in the Blue Door Shelter in Newmarket while we continue our search for an apartment for them.

Thanks to all of you who have contributed financially and with specific donations for this family,
and special thanks to the members of our Refugee Resettlement Committee who are working hard at
helping them to orient themselves to their new lives in Canada. Please keep Remon, Ator and Ramon in your prayers during this time of transition and adjustment for them!

HOLY WEEK/ EASTER SCHEDULE…
is included in this bulletin. We are very happy to announce that Bishop Peter Hundt, Auxiliary Bishop
for the Northern Region, will join us for our Easter Vigil as Presider and Homilist on Saturday April 3 at
8:30 p.m. Please make a special effort to join us for Easter Vigil this year!

UPCOMING FEAST OF ST. JOSEPH - NEW STATUE OF ST. JOSEPH
We will celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph,Patron of the Universal Church and Patron of Canada,
on Friday March 19 with masses at 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. I enclose in this bulletin a copy of the Novena Prayer
to St. Joseph, Patron of the Church, of Canada and of Families- for your personal use each day March 10-
19.

We will pray this prayer at each weekday mass during that period here at Our Lady of Grace, asking
the powerful intercession of St. Joseph in our lives and the lives of our loved ones.
I am also happy to announce that we have received a larger statue of St. Joseph (similar in size to
the statue of Our Lady of Grace) from the Convent of the Dominican Sisters of the Trinity in Quebec City.

This statue, which was in place temporarily last week, is now being restored by the same artist who restored the statue of Our Lady and should return permanently
within one month. I am grateful to the anonymous donor who is funding the restoration costs for this
statue. The small statue that we have used for the past three years is my own personal statue, and I was glad to offer it for parish use for this period!
