In this space you will find weekly updates on important parish happenings in the coming weeks.
Usually taken from my column in the Sunday bulletin, I hope they are informative and interesting.
Welcome back to all from the summer break! Today we resume our Sunday Noon Mass and our regular weekday mass schedule (Tuesday Mass will return to its usual 8 a.m. time!).
Please mark your calendars for the weekend of September 18/19 as we officially welcome our new associate pastor Fr. Luis Calleja to the parish with Coffee, Tea and Sweets in the hall after each mass!
We also congratulate parishioner and long-time RCIA team member Andrew (Tony) Keogh on the publishing of his first book God Loves You Infinitely! This practical book uses the Apostles’ Creed as a summary of the truths that serve as a guide to living out the joys and demands of God’s infinite love. Tony will also be on hand after each mass on September 18/19 to offer copies of his book for sale ($25 each) and to personally autograph each copy for you!

LITURGY OF THE WORD FOR CHILDREN…
will resume next weekend at the Saturday 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. and Sunday Noon Masses. Just a reminder that this programme is for school-aged children ages 4 and up. While parents are welcome to accompany their child downstairs for the first time or two, parents are strongly encouraged to remain upstairs for the Liturgy of the Word.
New Volunteers are always welcomed for this ministry- both adults over 18 (who are interviewed and must provide a police check) and youth aged 16-18 to assist (who are interviewed only). Please speak to Fr. Tim or Fr. Luis if you are interested.
ST. JOHN’S BIBLE TO VISIT OUR LADY OF GRACE PARISH/
INTRODUCTION TO GOSPEL OF JOHN BIBLE STUDY!
On Wednesday September 22nd at 7:30 pm we will host an evening with one of the most remarkable religious treasures of 21st century. Fr. Gordon Rixon, S.J. from Regis College will reflect on the topic “Remembering Sacred Scripture: Growing in the Word” as he turns the pages of the Prophets volume of the rare Heritage Edition of the St. John’s Bible, the first complete edition of the Bible to be hand scribed and hand illuminated in over 500 years. See the same monumental book that led His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI to remark recently: “This is a work of art… a great work of art…a work for eternity.” For more information about the St. John’s Bible at Regis College, see www.regiscollege.ca/SJB
On Wednesday September 29th at 7:30 p.m. our own parish bible study begins in the Large Meeting Room on The Gospel According to John and the Johannine Letters. Written in poetic and symbolic style, John’s gospel and letters prayerfully reflect on Jesus and his eternal relationship to the Creator. This 15 week study, delivered in two parts (Part I: 8 weeks- September 29 to November 17, Part II: 7 weeks January 5 to February 16, 2011) invites you to a deeper meditation on God’s overwhelming love. Cost for materials: $20 Please join us!
Labour Day Mass on Monday September 6th will be at 9 a.m. Our regular weekday Mass schedule resumes effective Tuesday September 8th. (see bulletin cover for details).
